One of the first lakes on the drive through the New Jersey side of the Delaware Water Gap park is called Watergate. Like its infamous namesake, this is a place you might like to avoid. It has a fairly hefty usage fee, large sterile grassed areas and a lack of the spectacular foliage that people come to see. |
The next lake along the ridge road is much better. Blue Mountain Lake provides lots of opportunities for leaf peepers, fishers and walkers. |
Crater Lake is at the end of the road. Again, it offers great opportunities to stand around... |
...walk around... |
And what a view! |
